Ijaw Youths Attack OBJ, Defend GEJ


Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has come under attack following his recent verbal attacks on ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan.

Ijaw youths from the nine states of the Niger Delta region, under the aegis of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), criticized Obasanjo, describing his comments as reckless, condemnable and baseless, Leadership reports.

Boko Haram will beg for peace - says New Chief of Army Staff


The Chief of Army staff, Maj. Gen Tukur Buratai says Boko Haram will either beg for peace or face the full wrath of Nigerian soldiers. He said this will addressing Nigerian troops stationed in Borno state yesterday July 19th. According to Maj Buratai, the operational name of the troops in Borno state will now be changed from “Operation Zaman Lafiya” to 'Operation Zaman Lafiya Dole' which in Hausa language means ‘the quest for peace becomes a must’.

Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, has insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari played to the gallery by recently slashing half of his salary. The governor said he was also ready to give up all of his own salary, because government official’s salary is nothing compared with the value of his other entitlements.
